Planning your wedding can be hard work. So many questions ! Here are some of my most frequently asked questions - if your specific question isn't here, please feel free to reach out. I'm always more than happy to assist.
I operate my business from my home-based studio in the North Brisbane suburb of Lawnton. My location situates me in the middle of all the hype – whether you’re getting married in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Dayboro, Esk, Brisbane, Bribie Island, the Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast, or even Northern New South Wales.
Yes. I service all South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales for Weddings and Events. Areas include (but are not limited to): Austinville / Beerwah / Bribie Island / Beechmont / Brisbane / Casuarina / Clear Mountain / Cleveland / Cedar Creek / Coolum / Caloundra / Canungra / Dayboro / Fernvale / Flaxton / Fortitude Valley / Grandchester / Hazeldean / Innisplain / Ipswich / Kangaroo Point / Kooralbyn / Mapleton / Maleny / Montville / My Mee / Mt Pleasant / Mt Alford / Mt Tamborine / Mudgeeraba / Mooloolaba / Noosa / North Lakes / Ocean View / Sandstone Point / Samford / Samsonvale / Samford Valley / Somerset/ Sunshine Coast / Tweed Coast / Toowoomba / Tamborine / Woodford / Yandina.
Pricing really does vary depending on the style, varieties of florals used, the number of arrangements required and the amount of time it will take to create your flowers (amongst other things). I don’t have price lists, as I find everyone’s needs are unique and there is no cookie cutter price that will suit everyone. I prefer to custom my quotes to suit your wedding flower needs.
Currently I don’t have a minimum spend, however I will be reviewing this in the near future. A similar amount of time goes into organising, quoting, invoicing and ordering for one or two arrangements, as it does for a fully styled wedding, so this is something that will be reviewed.
If you’re interested in organising your wedding flowers or event flowers through me, contact me via my contact form on my website, or send me an email at bloomsbybridie@outlook.com with details about your event.
Be sure to send through some images of arrangements that you like, and from there I can organise a quote with some different options for you. Once you’re happy with the quote, I send through a final quote, along with my Terms and Conditions and a Booking Payment Invoice.
I require a 30%, non-refundable booking payment to secure your date in my calendar. Your final payment will be due no later than 5 weeks prior to your big day. You’re welcome to make amendments to your order along the way, within reason. I understand that things can change in the lead up to your Wedding, so have flexibility when it comes to this.
If you’d like to organise a face to face meeting to discuss your florals, we can certainly do that, however I don’t meet with all my clients, it can all be done via emails and phone chats if that suits you best. I usually find organising a quote via email to see if you think I'd be the right fit for you is beneficial, and from there we can organise a face-to-face consultation.
As a general rule, most couples book me 12 - 18 months in advance, however sometimes I do have the availability with only 2 months notice. I absolutely hate turning couples away, so this isn't something I'd recommend, as it's always great to have your vendors secured, particularly if you're attached to their style etc.
I have been known to book weddings with 5 weeks notice if I have availability though, so definitely touch base via the contact page if you're interested in organising a quote.
I send out invoices for Booking Payments and Final Payments for you to pay via bank transfer. I don’t currently accept credit card payments.
Flowers are a funny thing when it comes to costing. Like any product, demand always increases prices at the wholesalers. If you’re getting married around ‘peak’ flower seasons such as Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, you can expect to pay a little more for your flowers. This isn’t due to florists increasing their price, rather the cost of flowers at our wholesalers being higher to meet demand. If you’re getting married on a Public Holiday or a Sunday, the flowers themselves won’t cost more, however your delivery and set up pricing will be higher due to staff wages on those days.
I do. I love freelancing for other florists. Working for yourself has its perks, but it is always nice to get out and about and assist other florists when they’re busy and need an extra set of hands. Working with other florists is a lovely way to chat with other creatives and lend a hand and talk to someone other than myself ! Haha.
Yes. I deliver your flowers to you the morning of your wedding. This ensures they’re in the fridge for as long as possible and that they maintain their freshness. Being a perishable product, unexpected things can happen to flowers, so if anything is to happen such as a stray flowers wilting, I can fix this for you prior to delivery, taking the stress out of your special day. On occasions, a staff member may deliver your flowers on my behalf, but I always ensure you have all the information prior to your wedding day.
A short answer – yes. You can definitely collect your flowers from my studio. However, if you have arbour arrangements or table pieces that need setting up, this is best done by myself, unless we’ve arranged an alternative for you. The last thing you want to be worrying about is setting up your arbour flowers on the morning of your wedding when you’re meant to be relaxing, getting pampered and enjoying the day.
If you do choose to pick up your order, care instructions will be given to you so you can best keep your flowers looking fresh, however I do recommend delivery so that I can fix any issues that may happen (as mentioned in the delivery section, flowers are perishable and things can happen).
I sure do (subject to the delivery location etc). Often I require 1 weeks’ notice if I don’t have a wedding that week. Being a wedding and events florist, I don’t stock flowers unless I have an event, but am always happy to source flowers for your birthday gift / anniversary or just because. Contact me via the contact page on my website if you’re interested in flowers for a special occasion.
